In previous articles, I had the merit of that pay-as-you-go mobile broadband services in Greece.

Walking into their local store on the island of Lefkas. I bought a "USB modem Wind 'plus 7 days of" pay-as-you-go credit. Is the cost of the USB stick € 126.00 (There is a cheaper alternative), the mobile broadband coverage in their extensive offering 3G network. Because of the language barrier, my Greek is not so good. I could ask the staff (English only) to my first Wage-activate-as-you-go card in the store. For a total of € 140.00 (€ 14 = 7-day credit) I was ready to plug and play my new Internet access from my boat.
Software: You can use the software downloaded from its website, it's the Mac or PC format with detailed instructions in the form of PDF and English. The software interface is very easy to use and easy to understand. An unexpected bonus is that "Wind ADSM Connection Manager" allows you to choose the network of your choice, but I suppose you would have to pre-registered with those other networks first (Comments welcomed on this issue)
Wind 3G is the default option. The Software Manager also has a built in SMS manager in it, so that you save options to your contacts and organize your SMS messages. Conclusion: The Wind USB modem is very simple to use, once activated. The language barrier can be a problem for the first Time, users are recommended so get 'wind' to do for you in one of their local stores. Sailing between the islands of the coverage I have found that very good. In a very secluded anchorages of the velocity has dropped. I tend to surf, if near a city and only check my e-mail when the cover is slower.
The price for the USB Modem Stick is uncomfortably high € 126.00 (3.5-fold higher than a T-Mobile pay-as-you-go service in the UK) but the quality of services between the two are roughly equal.
Recommendation: It is often by the staff to unlock a cheap USB modem stick and have only the Recommended top-up cards from the local newsagents etc ', this is a much cheaper alternative. You still have the "Wind ADSM Connection Manager" from their website download, but that is free of charge. This option is probably the best way to go for the budget-conscious travelers.
