It was a sad day for Ultimate Fighting Championship when Dana White had to stoop to giving away a free car to drum up enthusiasm for a fight of the UFC. Although no one was surprised when the highly anticipated  "showdown" between Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock in 1:18 fizzled first round, slapdown had much more devastating implications for the world at UFC as a whole. Royce Gracie / Matt Hughes UFC 60 was disappointment with the one-sided Stomping Gracie, but hey, the fight has a lot of money, and thats what is important, right?

If the UFC wants to remain competitive with PRIDE FC as he claims territory increasingly in the United States, we must all make many difficult choices. Are we willing to sit down and allow developers to distract us from our sport more hyped fights that divert the attention of thousands of fighters waiting to prove themselves against the best the UFC has to offer? Will White must sell more and more fighters UFC PRIDE to garner excitement? Are we ready to roll and pay more deaths than in PRIDE moves against us? And if it does not deserve to be UFC losers to pride?

These questions and more will be answered in the coming days as UFC 62 draws nearer. Who will head up, and that will not? Hopefully the UFC fans wonÂ't out on the losing side. Again.
