What chip timing services work?

Chip time is used to improve the management of race results for events such as marathons, triathlons, 5k, etc

Chip timing systems have two components: a chip bearing a unique identification number, and a series of mats that activate the chip. The chip – along with an energizing coil – is enclosed inside a tough shell, often made of glass or plastic, then you are in another box plastic. The shell is weather resistant, allowing the chip to be used in any race condition, regardless of temperature or humidity level. Significantly, no batteries in the chip, and can be reused again and again. Transponder chip is passive and does not send the signals until it was in the magnetic field created by special carpets. But once inside the field, the coil on the chip is converted into energy, produces an electric current, and the powers of the transponder chip. The transponder sends a signal, reporting its own unique identification number, and this signal is captured by the "receiving" antennas on the carpet, and then collected by a computer. The mats contain two types of antennas. A guy creates the magnetic field, while the other detects the signal activated by the chip. The mats are placed at key locations along the course of a career: the goal, often at the start, and in big events, several control points. A battery and some wires are attached to the mat, the power supply to the "send" antennas, which create a magnetic field. The entire activation process chip and a log of your signal is limited to a fraction of a second.
