There are many reasons to encourage a young person’s enthusiasm for dance. Not only will dance bring joy to the performer, but it will also bring joy to those closest to the young dancer. Parents, siblings and other family members will delight as your child trains and performs.

Learning the art of creativity:

As mentioned dance is a creative art and many young children have an inborn sense of creativity just waiting to be developed. It is exciting to see this creativity growing when your child takes dance classes. Nurturing creativity at this age will set your child up to explore more avenues in life and learn more in many fields.

Exercising and developing muscles:

Every young person needs an outlet. Different forms of exercise allow children to unleash all of the energy that is so obvious. Children can easily become slaves to the television or video games and become lazy. This can lead to weight problems and subsequent health issues like diabetes. Dance develops strong bodies and healthy hearts. They will also be encouraged to embrace a healthy diet, learning very early in their lives the value of a quality diet and rest. These days, so many children start on an early path towards an unhealthy lifestyle.

Confidence:

Your child’s confidence will increase as they master the many dance moves they will learn. Even at a very early age it’s so easy to see the benefits of even the smallest of successes. Learning to accomplish tasks early on will start a trend that will stay with your child for life. They will want to continue to succeed and learn new things. Not just in dance classes, but in all of their activities.

Learn respect:

An instructor can be many things. A coach or mentor to the young dancer learning an art. A life-long friend who they will seek advice from for many years to come. Or even someone to idolise. This type of early respect can also go both ways, with the instructor learning to respect the young dancer who tries hard and blossoms.

Dance helps develop social skills:

After working in a group of students, your child will gain knowledge of how to behave in a group. Being with classmates and spending time with other students will teach them valuable social skills. Some kids will find it difficult to get along with other children their own age. Dance lessons will help them to learn to socialize with other kids and eventually know what behaviour is acceptable in groups.

Dance helps with bonding:

It is very essential for a child’s upbringing to develop bonds and build great relationship with other children. As they grow up it will help them to build good relationships with others in work and recreational activities. Initially in dance lessons, they will bond with other students and their teacher. They will also build friendships among themselves. At this age, friendship often last for many years and even last for a lifetime.
