The schools today have extensive use of computer desktops and even allow laptops. This means that students have a greater degree of access to games that are popular with them. The presence of these computers is meant to enhance their learning and assist in education. However, the negative aspect of these is these systems is that they can be used to play unblocked games at school.

In certain cases this has only challenged students to find ways to circumvent these barriers to access. For those who are caught breaking policy, there can be grave consequences. They may be denied further use of computers or disciplined based on school policy. The gravity of the punishment is greater if the accessed game site causes malicious software and files to corrupt the computer. This can easily spread to other units thus causing significant harm to the school’s computer network.
Another aspect of this issue is the use of popular search terms by the games developers themselves which lead students to find the site for games. This can lead to the potential for malware or viruses making their way onto the computers or laptops.
One way to stay away from potential damaging websites but that still give you the ability to play video games online is to go to social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace where the video game is embedded in the website and it is not a stand alone site.
