Tang Combat

Vital disease occurs when a virus infects its host cells and multiply rapidly in them. Many viral diseases can affect koi. Some, like Spring Carp virus viremia, are extremely contagious and mortality is high. Viruses spread when infected faces are released into the water.

The virus most commonly found in smallpox is the koi. It presents itself as a visible, opaque, research pieces wax on the skin. One or more of these may be present throughout the body, head or fins. In extreme cases, the body can cover almost completely with them. Carp Pox is usually observed in spring, especially on young fish.

As the water rises, the temperature, the pieces can be considered separate and often disappear completely. No chemical treatments are available for viral diseases, the holder must rely on the fish immune system to fight which means heal itself. Wax such as growth of carp pox can be clearly seen. Though they look unsightly, it usually disappears as the temperature rises from the water.

Koi are ravenous, but to offer them more than they can eat within a reasonable time is wasted. Except skimmers are off at feeding time, many balls will be removed from the surface of the pond before they can be eaten.
