Taekwondo Head

I do taekwondo or karate?

I am a 14 year old girl, about 5'3 and I'm very flexible. I wonder whether it would be better for me to Taekwondo or take Karate. I can kick quite high (a few inches above my head), but my upper body is very weak and I want to strengthen it. I want both Karate and Taekwondo learn to prepare myself for Kung Fu (there are no schools where I live and where I go to China after college). Kung Fu is not an option because there are no schools here

I generally do not recommend styles. However, as you strengthen your upper body, I think you find a karate style. They have many steps, but offering more hand techniques. You get a lot more upper body work than most TKD schools. Just make sure not to do any school that sells black belt contracts. Avoid a site that often promotes. you're looking to a place that is more interested in teaching skills than in promoting students. The instructor is always the most important factor in the learning process. Find the best instructor and you have found your own style. Best of Luck!
