Table Tennis

A good bat table tennis should be a red rubber on one side and black on the other to be used legally in competition. What is the reason for this, and does it really matter that you use on your forehand or backhand?
Why a red side and black on the other?
It was several years ago that the ITTF has in the rule that only one side of the bat must be covered with red rubber and black on the other side. The main reason is that many players used different rubbers each side of the bat, some very different, as antispin one side and a rubber Spinny quick one. The idea was that the opponents should be able to anticipate what was on the ball entering the coup played by the opponent, and it should not be failure to guess that they used rubber. Having two different colored gum was allowed to see what opponents of rubber was used for which Stroke.
These days a common question is why certain players or entire teams, always use a rubber color on the forehand, and the other on the back. Rubbers are red and black, even the same brand and type, by nature different?
Well, consensus is that yes, they are significantly different, but for some rubber is much more important than others … For sticky rubbers Chinese style For example, the difference is usually the most obvious, the red rubber is a little less sticky, and black is a little softer and tackier. The sticky surface slows the ball a little, so it also makes red a little faster than black. So you choose one that suits you better on the forehand. For more spin game style based on a loop a black rubber may well be a better choice to aid in the creation of spin. For more than a game of hitting / driving style red may be a better option, which will not only speed a bit unusual, but the red rubber is also somewhat less sensitive to incoming spin-offs, making it more forgiving.
This difference comes from the manufacturing process. The raw rubber used to manufacture the topsheet rubber is naturally sticky and black. The dye needed for the red rubber, it loses some of its features tacky and smooth. For some rubbers, the various features are quite obvious. For example, a black "729 Geospin Tacky", a rubber spinniest made by Chinese manufacturer "729 friendly" is a lot tackier than black rubber even red. Because players usually buy such a rubber for its potential spin large, black is more popular than red.
For many Japanese or European made rubbers, most of which are intrinsically non-tacky (but attached), the differences not really noticeable until the decision is not as important.
So in conclusion, the decision on which color you use on What side effects make a difference, even if many players are not even aware of this and their decision is based on preferences personal, or are simply inherited from other players. For more spin based game I'd recommend some black side is used to generate more spin. For a speed of more game function, red on your attacker might be more appropriate.
