Why should English silver containing all common features, except for an urban label?

I offer a silver Albert watch chain. A lion passant (for silver) on each link, one years mark (n) pn the lout and the T-bar and the initials of an author. This does not mean the usual brand for a city where testing firm would have recorded the piece. Is it a fake or is there any authorized Mystery? Does anyone know of a silver input on this situation? I have a much of old English silver, and each city has one assay mark. A quandry. Thank you!
