As companies embark on the development of mobile applications to meet the needs of the business (whether Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile development, or other), a number of conditions on a mobile platform emerge. The most critical among them are following:

1. Desktop Application Integration. This includes synchronizing accurate data with encryption and the ability to manage data outside row. If you need timely access to important data stored on your computer, including emails, event alerts, and customer data, that proper integration is a must.

2. Multi-tasking. Due to the limited resources of the mobile device, multi-tasking is one of the main ways to increase productivity. (Even if it's fine WM development, this may be a problem for developers iPhone or Android.)

3. Minimizing the amount of traffic between a server and a device mobile, which helps to save time and cost.

4. User-friendly interface which allows to perform tasks required by the operations less.

5. Last but not least requirement is lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and support costs. Implementation of a mobile platform across the enterprise must be estimated in advance and those factors that support and costs of upgrading are of importance as well.

Each vendor platform offers its own mobile solutions to meet these requirements. Microsoft, for example, is preparing for Windows Mobile 7 launch, which could possibly also improve WinMobile development experience. Google, on the other hand, armed with the next Google Nexus One, tries to compete with Android in integrating existing Google Apps like Google Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar, and others. Apple focuses on the characteristics companies, providing integration with MS Exchange, as well as data encryption, GPS, etc.

However, according to Evans Data survey, development of Windows Mobile is still dominant in comparison with RIM OS, Mac OS and Android development. 50 percent of developers targeting mobile is WM 6.0 or WM 5.0 platforms. The reasons why the number of companies operating on Windows Mobile is overwhelming, are the following:

• Outside the Outlook integration, Win Mobile offers these applications Microsoft Office Mobile including Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile and Word Mobile. These applications have grown in popularity so much that they are universally implemented in various industries.
• The TCO of the Windows Mobile platform is 15-24% lower than that of the BlackBerry platform from RIM over a period of three years. And there is nothing to be surprised, because the native support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync removes the need to invest in additional software, integration, and other development efforts WM.
• Win Mobile is a.NET platform gives users the ability to acquire all the benefits of Microsoft Office and other applications based on Microsoft.

Though sometimes criticized for being a clumsy user interface, Windows Mobile compared to other mobile platforms, is at most a technology oriented company, which is naturally determined by the strategy Microsoft's marketing, development on Windows Mobile. The good thing about this is so much competition that drives all of these providers platform for further improvements and innovations which, in turn, help to better meet the requirements listed DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS PROFESSIONAL.
