How many step-by action against one days should I, if I need to lose lbs 50?

I have an average of about 6000 steps per day (according to my step-counter, or) pedometer. Should I aim for 10,000 or more? I weigh 205 kg now at 5'7, and I hope it to 150 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
