Why is there so much fuss about toned arms? Is it really that hard to tone arms? Well, it depends on what approach you’re taking.
And some women, especially celebrities like Madonna, have found the right strategy. Now some may argue that Madonna has taken it too far, but at least she has gone somewhere with her arms.
So what’s so different about the right strategy and the wrong strategy? Well, for one, the right strategy should include effective exercises that tone arms and not other body parts.
Yet finding the right exercises can be harder than finding a needle in a hay stack. There is simply way too much contradictory information out there. Luckily for you, I have decided to review a massive amount of arm exercises for women. Today we will look at one arm reverse pushdowns:
1. Overview: Unlike regular reverse push-downs, this exercise targets the lateral head of the triceps. This area of the triceps makes up the outer portion of your upper arm. Considered a finishing move, single-arm reverse push-downs are not conducive towards heavy weights.
2. Technical overview: Grasp a handle with an underhand grip. Face the machine and gently tighten your abdominal belt. Keep the elbow locked in place and press the handle down. Slowly return the handle to the starting position.
3. Frequent mistakes: Raising the shoulder to help get the handle down. Not keeping the elbow locked in place. Letting the upper torso hunch forward. And grabbing the handle too tightly which can cause significant pain in the wrist.
4. Bottom line: Exercising one arm at a time is EXTREMELY inefficient. You are far better off exercising both arms at the same time. Also, you are restricted to using light weights because of the grip you use when doing this exercise.
Is figuring out how to tone arms really that hard? Not really, just make sure you are learning from the right source of information. Because there is a lot of information out there that is simply worthless. And make sure you are doing effective exercises that are going to get you to your sexy arm goal.
