Like most martial arts karate also has weapons that are used in times of combat or in Olympic sporting events. These weapons karate help become more flexible and move with more grace than you do the art of karate.

Many of these weapons of karate in ancient times where as the sword because karate was often confused with some Chinese martial arts and the samurai whose main weapon was samurai sword, however, since swords have become prohibited weapons replaced by other came into play.

The weapon Karate has been processed into a wooden weapon because many people who have studied and used art were farmers and all what they were farming tools.

Some of these weapons were staff of six feet which was known as Bo, the nunchaku is two sticks linked by a chain or rope, Bo Han is the smaller version of Bo and is primarily a short wooden stick. There is also Sai, who is a fork as a weapon of metal used as a pair and Kama which is two sickles used as a pair. There also is a Shinai bamboo sword and a sword Bokken wood. Last but not least was the Tonfa, which is a short wooden stick with additional handle and is used in pairs.

Some of these weapons are still used today, but more in films to represent the karate, as well as in Olympic sporting events.
