People in the martial arts industry finally celebrate the fact that the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) has finally made official that they purchased the Pride Fighting Championships. At a press conference in Tokyo, he has indicated that the deal was struck to just under 70 million dollars. The news has been reported in Newsday making it known to all that Great – things were about to come.
Six years ago, the casino magnate also known as the Fertitta brothers bought the Ultimate Fighting Championship and made it the leading sport in the mix martial arts industry today. Each year, you can bet there are millions of people who have pay per view parties watching the star studded event of the UFC, or maybe they are glued to their televisions watching reality shows champions battle ultimate. Programs like The Ultimate Fighter and Ultimate Fight nights are the best to show the new up and coming fighters and they can be seen on channels such as Spike TV.
With all these new, most people are probably wondering what all this means for the Pride Fighting brand. No need to worry Pride Fighting Fans, the Fertitta Brothers plan to keep the same name and will also continue to promote the fight with that name. The purchase means that they can expand internationally and we hope it will enable them to regain their fans in Japan. According to the article that appeared in Newsday, Pride Fighting was released by Fuji TV network that the rumor that they were tied with the Japanese Mob. This eventually led to the sale Pride Fighting.
With the purchase of Pride Fighting, UFC has solidified its leadership position in flight in the Mixed Martial Arts Industry. Many fighters Mixed martial arts have fought on both sides.
