How the bottom of my dress shoes do get more grip?

I bought some new Stacy Adams dress shoes and I go to a party. The bottom of the shoes are not made of rubber, is hard and smooth. Sliding my shoes when I walk too much and i dont want to slip on hard floors. I heard hairspray will tougher and have more grip, but I think it can make it smooth. Is there a way to get more grip with this type of shoe?

Get a nail file or a piece of sandpaper and scuff the soles of the shoes, just scratch the heck of them. You can put them on, find a piece of rough pavement and scrape them. I've done this many times dress shoes (such as weddings as I have a bridesmaid and had to walk a brand new aisle Slippy-bottom shoes) and it works every time. Best!
