There are major changes taking place in the field of robotics. New time-saving robots that due chores are now in their 5th and 6th generations of development.
We know from careful observation that when a time consuming task suddenly becomes shorter, either of two outcomes occurs. First, we have more time to do the task better. The second possible outcome is that we move on to a completely new task.
Back in the 80s and 90s you probably spent most of your time talking on the phone, pulling files, and typing on a typewriter. Today you work so much faster because you communicate by email instead of the phone and you have instant access to files on your shared corporate network as opposed to having to pull a file. You print and spell check a document at lazer speed as opposed to banging away on an old typewriter.
But it is not just the work life that has changed. Think about how technology has changed home life. Seventy five years ago, there were no vacuum cleaners. In general, homes were not as clean as they are today. When vacuum cleaner technology was invented and then came to be more affordable, people started vacuuming every couple of weeks. Scientists tell us that people spend a lot more time cleaning than they did 75 years ago.
Today we have robot vacuum cleaners that can autonomously vacuum your home for you. It use to be that a robot that could navigate autonomously around a room cost tens of thousands of dollars. Even the first generation of robotic vacuum cleaners cost $2,000. Today, you can get a robot vacuum cleaner for a couple hundred dollars!
Robot vacuums can take care of vacuuming your home while you are asleep or even away on vacation. They do not require any rest, food, or payment for services rendered. They will automatically sense objects in their way and they will simply go around them.
Another awesome line of domestic robots that help you with your chores are robotic lawn mowers. These automatic lawn mowers can cut any size yard from less than an acre to 5 acres! They are very quiet because they are electric and they do not use gas. They are mulch lawn mowers so you do not have to rake and pick up the grass.
Check out the new inexpensive robots that are for sale. If they can free up your time from doing chores, they are so worth the small initial investment.
