Road Race

Bicycle racing has been around a long time – since the mid-nineteenth century. However, it does not take the form it has today until about the early twentieth century. Now, some of the first races that have been established for cyclists are always among the most prestigious. In general, the world of bicycle racing's most famous include the large towers, shopping at the Olympics, and professional racing under International Cycling Union, or UCI. They are racing road bike. Other types of bike races which are not as well known races include mountain biking (first acknowledged in 1990) and cyclo-cross racing (originally developed for road racers in cons-season).

Grand Tours

There are three Grand Tours of cycling, most famous is the Tour de France. This multi-stage race takes three weeks, and crosses France, to find traditionally in Paris. Founded in 1903, this bike race covers nearly two thousand miles, and consists of twenty stages between specific cities. The winner is the person with the shortest times at each step. Other tours are the Grand Tour of Italy (Giro sometimes right), which was founded in 1909, and inspired by the Tour de France. In Spain, a race is like the Vuelta a España.

The Olympics

Cycling was part of the Olympic Games since 1896, in which a race 12 hours has been attempted. Many Olympic cycling events of the past have been forgotten, including 1908 to 660 yard sprint cycling. Today, the motorcycle competitors in the Olympics competition in track cycling, cycling road racing bike and BMX and off-road racing. The races are divided by sex, and in some cases are as a team.

UCI Races

The UCI ProTour was created in 2005 to replace the former UCI World Cup. The World Cup consisted of only races a single day. The ProTour, however, contains the famous Grand Tours and the Tour de Suisse, Criterium de Dauphine Libere, Paris-Nice and other well-known of several races a day. It also still contains all the races one day that made up the World Cup: Belgium Tour of Flanders and Liege-Bastogne-Liege race, Milan-San Remo in Italy and the Giro di Lombardia, the France Paris-Tours and Paris-Roubaix, the Championship of Zurich in Switzerland, Spain Clasica San Sebastian, the HEW Cyclassics in Germany, and the Amstel Gold Race in the Netherlands. Some breeds are only spring. Others are held in the fall. In general, cycling is a sport for the summer, this definition is often stretched to the season really begins in early spring and ends in the fall.
