Protector Support

Many new home computers now come with a 64-bit, the price of these have declined dramatically in recent years and very soon they will become the norm. A 64-bit processor can run an operating system 64-bit, and this is where Windows 64bit You see a lot of people think that upgrading to Windows 64 bit is underway to make their computer a lot faster, it is unfortunately not the case. First, lets take a look at what a 64-bit processor can do a 32bit can not.
Memory Address Space – The difference between 32bit and 64bit address space. A 32-bit processor is capable of addressing an area of up to 2 ^ 32 or 4,294,967,295 bytes, is around 4 gigabytes, which is a bit tight right? While a processor can handle 64-bit address space between 0 and 2 ^ 64, that is; 18,446,744,073,709,551,615. Let's put this into perspective, which is 18.5 exabytes of memory! (An Exabyte is 1,000 terabytes, 1000 gigabytes of 1 terabyte) So it's a hell of much more! But who on earth has as much memory? Well, no, in fact, most computers have more than 4 GB, for the simple reason that a system Operating 32-bit can not address more than this! (Not without some ugly hacks at least)
The benefits of 64bit – So what has really are the benefits of 64-bit Windows? Well if you have 4 GB or less, there is really no benefit, and at this point, I would recommend safely stick to 32 bits! If you have more than 4GB of then 64-bit Windows is capable of dealing with memory, but did you ever likely to need more? Probably not, unless of course you use multiple applications very memory intensive at times. But as I write what I have for example many of Firefox, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Excel, Open Remote Desktop and my memory usage is sitting around 615mb! The fact of the matter is that most people do not have enough memory to support an operating system 64-bit for now.
Problems related to 64bit – Until now, I almost said that Windows 64 bit is useless for most people, then this is another Due to rest to us, support the driver. If you intend to use your Windows 64bit will need 64-bit drivers, the problem is much material manufactures will not have 64-bit drivers for much of their equipment. When this occurs, you can try to find a 3rd party version, you can program your own (yeah right) or you can not use the equipment! Those are your only options. Because of this, I seriously recommend that you check your hardware has 64bit support, otherwise I simply would not bother.
So, in summary 64bit Windows look good on paper, you have the space Addressing huge that no one could possibly ever fill (not for a very very very long time, at least!) Disadvantages outweigh the pro's especially with the inherent problem with driver support (or lack thereof!) So unless your batch operation applications of very memory hungry and your confidence you can get 64-bit driver for your hardware, then I stick with Windows 32 bit for now. Chances are 64bit years you will receive support much more hardware manufactures.
