A question that gets asked frequently by casual fans is that even when not working gym hobby give way to the status of amateur bodybuilding?

The answer to this question is complex and not well defined. Sportsmen and women are considered equally good as their professional counterparts and with the exception of not making a living from the sport are not fundamentally different. They take their sport seriously and standards used to measure their performance, are just as strict as those applied to professionals. The difference among DIY enthusiasts and fans is a little easier to identify. Amateurs tend to spend much more time, effort and money on sport and regularly participate in amateur bodybuilding competitions recognized. In addition, the results tend to speak for themselves. We do not often find gym rat casual with the kind of form exhibited by amateurs.

Amateur Bodybuilding is perhaps the best of both worlds in relation to bodybuilding professional. There is less pressure to perform and, frankly, less likely to cross the line when it is banned performance enhancers and questionable or unsafe practices. Competitions tend to maintain much of the gravity and severity of pro events but are the same once more casual and relaxed and more fun and enjoyment is had on the whole. Given the competitive nature of light weight training amateur camaraderie and cooperation are numerous and close, the long-standing friendships are common.

These issues aside, very few differences can be observed between the methods, routines and diets of amateurs and professionals. Disciples of amateur bodybuilding take their sport very seriously and training regimens are equally intense and sustained than those charged by professionals. As mentioned previously, the only notable difference is in the lower incidence of the use of banned substances.

Bodybuilding is also well represented with several recognized associations governing and protecting the interests of sport. As such, the amateur bodybuilding gives very little away for the pros and offers much more structure and prestige than that found in the occasional club. For bodybuilders who want to maintain professional standards without the many pressure circuit pro, amateur bodybuilding is choice. chip
