Pretty Good – Cell Phone Windshield Mount Review

by John Henderson

I would not recommend this product. I have had this mount for about a year and it works great. I purchased this device for my Dell Streak 5, which is pretty much the largest smartphone on the market. I adjusted perfectly fine to the size. Could not use the phone mount on my vent. Even though my “Con” section is bigger than my “Pro” section, I still do like this phone mount, and I would recommend it to a friend.

They are already, after only 3 months, beginning to tear and crack. The other major complaint I have is about the adhesive mounting pad for my dash.

Other than that, it’s very adjustable, and easy to use. It’s a perfect fit for the Droid X.

The suction cup design is the best I’ve used. There is a wide variety of adjustments and configurations for how you can use this mount. The windshield mount, however works very well and holds firmly. If I had to do over, I’d still get this, but I wouldn’t bother with the vent mount.

I took off two stars for the poor design of the clamps on the vent mount and the obviously harsh release button, but so far I’m happy with my purchase. Because of the way my particular vehicle is set up, I am not able to get this item exactly where I want it, but I can say that I am very pleased with the item.

The vent setup is so wobbly and unstable that it moved around while I was driving. Also, I can’t charge my phone while it’s in the mount – so that rules out using it for Bluetooth music or GPS.

Despite its poor design, it does function properly as a mount with my Samsung Galaxy S 4G. I clipped this onto my vent and am surprised at how well it works. One thing I was wondering about prior to purchasing was how the release function operated. The way it works is when you want to put your phone/GPS in the mount; you make sure it’s released (by pressing the release button). The phone doesn’t move too much if any while going down the road. And it’s not a bad price.

Works well with my Droid X. No problem having the power plugged in and the audio jack used at the same time. This mount works great with my phone (An LG Optimus V Droid phone.) All the configurations work well. Used the air-vent clamps and then took the plunge and used the suction mount on the windshield of my car. It allows my phone to be plugged in while in the holder. It does allow the phone to vibrate a little when driving but not enough to cause problems.

Original review: When I received the mount, I was quite pleased. White Faux Leather Ottoman.
