Power Ball

Softball is known to be a power Sport.it explosive movements are seen during batting, base running, Fielding and the rapid turnover pitch. Conditioning workouts should be geared to developing power. After weeks of developing strength and endurance, Training for speed, power and speed would be next.

Power Training involve explosive movements, sports specific exercises. Use medicine balls and kettle bells would be more useful. These exercises are about 5-8 reps for 2-3 sets of 30-60 sec. rest in between sets.

Here the workouts power that may be done in the gym:

1) Squat to lift the front

– Begin with a wide track, while holding a weighted plate or dumbbell in between legs. Go into a deep squat until thighs are parallel to the floor keeping weight down, then explode upwards while raising his arms in front of you. Then back down to a deep squat

2) High-ball-Body Med Shuffles

– Run a push-up position with a med ball under one hand. Perform regular push-up movement until the chest is closer to the floor. As you push up, Roll ball to the other Hand.

3) Med ball throw spilled from a position crunch

– Lie down with knees raised and feet flat on the floor with a med ball up above head with arms extended. Do sit down regularly with a ball over the head. Ball Release partner in front of you as you go up. Ask partner to throw the ball backwards over your head as you return to original position.Â

4) Twist Russia med ball throw

– Start a Crunch vertical position with feet above the ground. Place hands on one side with a med ball while a partner is located on the opposite side. Begin workout on a twist torso toward your partner and releasing ball. Partner launches ball as you go back to original position.Â

5) Side spin on the ball Physio

A lie on a ball placed Physio on your back. Having feet on the ground to support you, lift the lower back and thighs parallel to the top ground. with both arms together in a prayer the position in front of your chest. While keeping your balance, rotate all the way from one side of your shoulder rests on the ball, the repeated movements on the other side. To increase the difficulty you may organize a weighted ball.Â
