Treadmill Lubrication – Ya Gotta Grease The Skids

Treadmill lubrication on treadmills many consider a necessary part maintenance of equipment and care. Failure to regularly lubricate treadbelt will result in increased wear, reducing considerably its lifetime.

Although you may not think about these things when choosing among the treadmill, lubrication is an important issue to consider.

The treadbelt revolves around rollers and treadmill deck creating friction and heat cause wear of the belt itself. When you walk or run on it, wear and increases treadbelt substantially. Lubrication reduces friction considerably.

Not all treadmills require lubrication. Some, usually those in higher price ranges are equipped treadbelts made of materials which are essentially "self-lubricating.

Manufacturers advertise as "self-waxing" or "guarantee of 10,000 miles. But other require lubrication to keep moving parts functioning properly.

Only A Rube fails to Lube

Treadmill Lubricants are either wax or non-petroleum-based silicon, depending on model. Treadmill manuals usually indicate what is the proper lubricant to use and will specify a certain brand, high performance or Lube-N-Walk.

It is essential that the proper lubricant be used to prevent degradation or wax buildup treadbelt which affects performance and increases wear. Poor lubrication may invalidate the warranty.

Care and maintenance kits are available in most retailers of fitness equipment and suppliers online. They include cleaning supplies, which must be used if the treadmill requires lubrication or not.

Dirt accumulation and increases friction, which is on treadbelt and heat that deteriorates treadbelt material. Regular cleaning prevents these problems and must be paid before the lubrication, as well.

Remember that equipment Exercise takes more shots than you use. It's better like that, but proper maintenance and lubrication will keep your fast machine and works well.
