In the first of four series to watch the world history of trainers, we look at the period from 1917 to 1972. This period includes a selection of some of the first trainers produced including the Stan Smith from Adidas and the Pro-Keds Royal Plus.

1917, a Converse All-Star

Launched in 1917, and taking the Chuck Taylor name since 1923 in honor of the famous basketball player, the shoe has been a favorite in the world of music and has been associated with Snoop Dogg and bands including The Ramones and The Strokes. The shoe also featured in the film "I, Robot" with Will Smith. Status classic The Trainer its history and style means that it is around for many years to come.

1964-Adidas Stan Smith

The quality of design and always People around the world since the launch of the ITA as the first tennis shoe leather performance. The shoe has been re-issued in several colors over the years, but the classic white model, combining retro fashion and sports. These trainers go with any outfit.

1968 A – Puma Suede

The basic design of these trainers, coupled with the wide variety of colors, these are the best shoes like the world's. The 1990s brought a revival of these Puma classics which can be worn with almost anything and still look good.

1969 A-Adidas Superstar

This was the beginning of the small first basketball shoe to be made and is known by millions as the toe "shell", a feature which was included to protect players' feet. A favorite on the hip hop scene with his own pieces and styling, Run-DMC released the song "My Adidas" in recognition of the shoe. The trainer brought by basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar, when they were released, can be seen worn through the world today, including all prisons in the United States!

1971 A-Pro-Keds Royal Plus

Available as a record high and low These trainers were easily recognizable by their red and navy stripes. Developed for the basketball court, the Keds were worn by Nate Archibald Kings Kansas City.

1972 A-Adidas SL 72

With Â'SLÂ Standing 'Super Light, these trainers were designed for the Games 1972 Olympics in Munich and were incredibly light. These trainers feature a built in heel counter and have been re-issued in 2004.

Thata is the first installment, the next time we'll focus on the period up to 1987, including the birth of the mighty Jordan.
