How an IBM laptop with a dead fic monitor / black screen while the computer is turned on itself?

When I was on the laptop, it makes the normal sounds if the hard drive and drivers, but nothing appears to run the monitor, are all black. What should I do? Can I fix it? Is there a way to mine data from the laptop to get?

if you know her screen then surely thats broken … get a new screen and install it. or take ur hard drive, put it in another laptop, but it would be compatible be. turn the computer and allow Windows to load. Right click on the desktop, click Properties. Click on the Settings tab. something like "dual moniters" or something to show in the window. when a desktop monitor you can connect to the back of ur laptop and the "dual monitor" settings back to the video port instead of the internal standard. im not exaclty sure if ur qaulified to do something. Also im not sure exaclty ur as IBM would have the same settings as my Dell Latitude 100L (my screen broke so I had to change the settings by removing the hard drive and change the settings in my other Dell compatible.)
