Question about crate training and mattresses in the drawer?

I'm about to adopt a Pug puppy four months old. I reserach and talked with many dog owners about the benefit of training cases. I bought a box the size standard is appropriate for the puppy. My only concern is that it has a floor (which is a cage in search of the drawer, not the version of the operator) and so I thought I was going to buy a rug to put on it, but I was told I do not put anything in it because the hot dog to come. If the box has some padding in it or none at all? I want the puppy is comfortable, but on all pugs are sensitive to temperatures. How can I put a mat in or not?
