At a time when the word massage, as in the massage room, has connotations which made it inappropriate in polite society. It gives the impression that something outside of Paris in the thirties. In reality, the word massage means "the act or art of treating the body by the friction, kneading, patting, or the like, to stimulate circulation, increase flexibility, relieve tension, etc.. "

It may also refer to properties or curative care.

The application of massage dates back several hundred years ancient Greece or ancient Egypt. It was performed before or after the competitions as well as a treatment for patients.
