Leg Curl

Under traditional gym, the leg curl is often considered a staple of the Lower body weight training. This is an exercise in isolation (a single joint movement), knee flexion, which is used to strengthen the hamstrings.

This exercise is useful because you do ever this particular muscle action, isolated knee flexion, lying on their stomachs, daily activities and sports. Thus, the leg curl is non-functional there is no end to it.

In activities such as running, jumping and skating, for example, the function of the hamstrings is not flex the knee, but extend the hip. So, to develop functional strength of these activities, you want to do exercises where the hip extension your foot is in contact with the ground. This is considered a closed chain exercise. An open chain is when your foot is in contact with soil, such as bending the legs.

Another point is that the hamstrings do not work in isolation: they work in collaboration with the glutes (buttocks) in almost all movements. Exercises such as Stiff-Leg lifted off the ground and especially-Leg Stiff-Leg Deadlift, which strengthen the glutes and hamstrings are major functional movements because they work the muscles in ways that you actually use in your daily activities and sports.

The interpretation key Stiff-Leg lifted off the ground and one leg stiff-Leg Deadlift is properly concentrate on flexing the hips while pushing the butt back and maintaining an arc in the lower back. If you remember that the movement comes from the hip and not the lower back, youÂ'll improve your technique and perform this lift properly.
