Kobudo weapons sparring?

I wonder if anyone here has a sparring program for weapons in school. The Okinawa Karate Kobudo weapons (staff, Sai, tonfa, nunchaku, etc.) and we teach shapes and onesteps in our school, but no real sparring. I have seen some schools with the WEKAF Armor (World Eskrima, Kali, Arnis Federation) helmets and protective gear, and with foam weapons. Does anyone here do? I'm curious what you think about it only do forms and steps.

Yes, I teach kobujutsu program. I teach Kata, Ippon Kumite and Kumite with the progress of students. My teacher has the foam weapons you speak for Kobudo.
