Fuji Single

Technology is a beautiful thing. Each year hundreds of new or improved products are produced. Manufacturers of digital cameras are delivered with the new models a few times a year, each company trying to outdo the other. They went crazy with the variety of scene modes that are added for new cameras.
Digital Camera Scene Modes are a simple way for you to "tell" the camera what type of photo you take. The camera will then optimize the settings for that particular shot. Some of fashion change how colors are recorded, others change or not the flash fires. The trend now is to add special effects and things you probably never use.
How often do you use a Starburst effect? Do you take lots of pictures that require a pastel color effect? Even semi-popular sepia mode is not necessary, provided that I am concerned. One click in your editing software and you Sepia.
If you're like most people, you only need to few scene modes on your camera. Here are details on the 5 ways you are most likely to use.
Portrait
Portrait mode is designed to take pictures of people. Whether one person or group of people, you should use Portrait mode. Your digital camera will select a shutter speed and aperture combination appropriate to capture your subject and background blur. The idea here is to make the background less distracting.
The new digital cameras incorporate the technology developed automatic scans actually locate the picture faces. It is generally known or face-priority face detection. It helps especially when the subject is center is not dead in the picture or when you have a group of people. Nikon, Fuji, Sony and other manufacturers take advantage of this technology in many devices.
Consult your owner's manual to see if your camera uses this technology and whether it automatically or you activate it manually.
Landscape
Landscape should be your choice for all of these views cut breath you want to shoot. Panoramas of the beach, mountains, a field of flowers or a skyline of the city are all uses of choice for landscape mode. Your digital camera selects a combination of maximizing exposure to what is in focus from front to rear.
Even if is not absolutely necessary, using a tripod or some other kind of help will help. Walk around a bit to find the best point of view. Sometimes, a slight shift to the left or right (or up or down) that will make the difference between a snapshot and a photograph.
Sports mode
Whether Kids Soccer or baseball, or NFL game, the sport mode is designed to help you stop the action. Your digital camera will set the shutter speed as high as possible for the lighting conditions to stop the action. Sports mode is also your camera in shooting mode continuous (hold the button down and shoot 3-4 photos online) and forces the flash. If you can, making ISO 400 or 800 may also help. Some cameras do it for you.
You'll want to get as close as you can for major sports and action photography. First get physically close, right on the button if possible. Up and down the field with the action. (Not so easy to play hockey.) Then Use your zoom to get the photo you want. Take some wide shots to show all the action, and tight shots of one or two players. This will help to tell the story better.
Remember to pay attention to what happens in the game. You may have to jump from track players!
Beach / Snow Mode
Having been a long time resident of Florida, and as residents Current Colorado, I can attest to the real benefit of the Beach / Snow scene mode. Both film and digital camera meters light are calibrated to an average tone. Scenes too bright or dark are not registered correctly. Beach / Snow scene mode is for all these bright scenes.
Large areas of open water on a sunny day. Long white sandy beaches. Mountains covered with snow on your next ski vacation. This all-time ideal for use of beach / snow mode. You tell the camera that your subject is very bright and he will be compensated. Instead Snow gray mud, it will be recorded and bright white as it should.
Sunrise / Sunset Mode
While most modes Scene change the aperture or shutter speed used, Sunrise / Sunset mode changes how the colors of the scene have been recorded. The goal is to save the beautiful quality of light in these times of day.
Sunrise and sunset is the moments when the world is bathed in beautiful light and warm. You'll hear photographers refer to as Golden Light and the Golden Hours. Using these parameters instead of Auto mode, you capture the beautiful light and colors are spectacular. Try it yourself next time you photograph a sunset and you will see the difference.
The next time you read your manual (you know where it is not?) Check all the scene modes your digital camera. Perhaps there are a few that you find useful for your style of shooting. Try them, and the 5 listed here, to improve the photos you take.

The Grudge [Blu-ray]
$7.01 It's not the scary hit that The Ring was in 2002, but The Grudge makes a similarly convincing case for American remakes of popular Japanese horror films. Barely a year passed between the release of Takashi Shimizu's creepy ghost story Ju-On: The Grudge and the production of this American remake, set in Tokyo and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar in her first post-Buffy horror film. About the only sig... |
