Foam Roller

Ho hum. For woodworking, I am referring to the skirting, window and door (inside) and doors.

All these areas will probably need preparation. In preparation, I mean the following:

Remove nails and bits sticking out, whatever they be. Fill any holes or cracks with a good quality filler, let dry and sand smooth. Rub the doors with a solution of soap and water, or hot water and washing up liquid if you do not have sugar soap. Make 'em clean basically.

Empty. Yes vacuum all your dust and pieces so they are completely gone. There is nothing in the world of decorating more infuriating than seeing bits of stuff about all the new wood Satin. No empty. If you can not use a vacuum cleaner, ask your other half. It will. If it does not, you probably will not civilized enough to to paint. Watch TV instead.

Using a thumb, a one-and-a-half-inch or even (max) a two-inch brush, apply one coat, full of good undercoat acrylic primer (quick drying) to all woodwork, using smooth, even strokes. Do all the woodwork except the actual door. We will come in a moment.

When it's dry (one hour on a warm day) do exactly the same thing with your coat finish, which will probably be a white gloss. Smooth strokes even remember. Use enough paint to put a good coat, but if it works after a few seconds you use too. In fact, why not use something like Crown Non-Drip-one-coat? A fantastic product. Can not go wrong with it.

Where made. Leave him alone, do not mess with it. any editing can be done when it is dry (about five hours in a warm room or whatever it says on the CAN).

The door is another matter. I prefer to use a foam roller and a mini-mini roller tray and put many layers on. That applies to primer and undercoat bright. Use a different roller for different paints of course. Throw the rollers away when you're done. Wrap the roll in a glossy plastic bag between layers. You'll probably need three coats of gloss because it does not go too deep, but gives a nice finish.

Keep children and cats and dogs away until it is dry.
