We all have very little time these days. We want to maximize our workouts on a treadmill. It would also be good to keep burn calories for hours after walking on the treadmill, right?
So what can you do to achieve this goal?
This Section 4 will describe main ways to supercharge your calories expended during and after your workout. Use these strategies and you may notice results in as little as one week!
# 1 Split Times Up Your Workout
Instead of walking 1 hour, try to separate the drive treadmill into 2 half hour segments. Do a morning and an afternoon or evening.
The reason this works is that your metabolism Boost for several hours after exercise. By splitting time until you receive a double boost during the day. And you will find probably something much better – 30 minutes seems much shorter than doing a full hour at a time.
# 2 Reduce your speed and Crank Up That Incline
Did you know that slope, not speed, may in fact have the greatest effect on the number of calories you burn?
For example, according to my treadmill, so I walk at 3.0 mph and 0 grade, I burn about 289 calories per hour. If I reduce my speed from 2.0 mph (which feels luxuriously slow) but my inclination increase to 15%, I burn about 500 calories per hour – almost double the calories.
Granted this is a high slope of so you may not want to do for 30 consecutive minutes. But even in the construction of several higher grade intervals of calories by chewing a no time. And it is amusing to see how many calories to climb at that speed on the console. It can really inspire you to make even more inclined intervals.
# 3 Forget that you're exercising in building entertainment fun in your workout
Did you know boredom is the # 1 people to avoid the exercise of reason? Boredom can make exercise seem tedious. Chances are that you cut your workout short when you start thinking about all the interesting things you could do instead.
Then, be strategic about your workouts on a treadmill – make it productive and enjoyable. There are several ways to do so.
Charge your iPod with your favorite tunes. Or place your treadmill in front of your TV to watch your nighttime drama. I have wireless internet my house often and read my mail or online with my iTouch walking.
I had a complete workout to watch videos on YouTube my iTouch. And I exercise often longer than I expected because I'm caught watching YouTube. (It is a guilty pleasure like watching YouTube videos entirely justified.)
Think of something you enjoy doing and do it while walking on the treadmill. You'll probably end up exercising longer than usual and burn more calories.
# 4, Change Up – Every Minute
One of the best ways to keep your metabolism stoked is to constantly challenge your body. If she never knows what will happen, he can not hit a plateau period.
To do this, try changing some something every minute. Speed up to one minute and slow the next. Then go even faster then average, then faster, then slow, etc. Walk to slopes 2% for one minute, then Next 4%, then 10% and 1% – you get the idea.
