In simple terms, the pirates were thieves who can steal mostly at sea, or sometimes in towns near the shore, without authority of any nation without a uniform style of dress. Most of us have a very romantic notion of pirates as – rich, interesting and rebellious, which operate outside the rigid norms of a society.

In fact, most pirates were poor and unhealthy, and died young. Their work was hard and dangerous – who had to fight, loot and keep a boat that usually old.
