Extra Heavy

When it comes to playing the guitar, there are many choices to make. One of the most overlooked, yet critical, choices are what kind of guitar pic to use. Here is a list of types, thicknesses and materials and style of game we hope to help you choose the guitar pic to the right.
Most guitar picks for today are in fact a triangular shape from a kind of plastic. There are several types of plastics used include:
 • Celluloid which is still used somewhat today and is highly flammable in nature. This is a good material to use if you are a player of jazz or blues in search of a vintage "tone.
 • Nylon that is as flexible as it is popular. Nylon ends to wear quite quickly, become brittle and break. Typically, photographs are very thin are made of nylon and are used the game runs very fast.
 • Nylon or Delrex, which are merely trade names for materials manufactured by DuPont, which are derived from Delrin. Similar to nylon, but has a matte finish that is easy to take, which makes them very popular. Dunlop Tortex uses and D'Andrea Delrex uses.
 • The acetal is a group of plastics that are divided into two subgroups; copolymers which are used by Clayton and homopolymers that are derived from the division Delrin DuPont. The homopolymers are just a little more rigid than their cousins copolymer.
 • Ultem is an advanced plastic is the most rigid of all plastics used in guitar picks. Steve Clayton is credited with it. Picks Ultem are very popular with mandolin players.
 • Lexan is a rigid, almost glassy. Very hard and not flexible in nature, this is used primarily for additional pictures thick. Ultem wear out relatively quickly and is prone to breakage, even under normal use.
Then there are the peaks of metal, such as those used by Brian May of Queen fame (like a sixpence) or Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, who uses a Mexican peso by choice. Many players use metal spikes to get a more brilliant. They focus largely on the strings and can damage the Finishing the guitar strumming conditions.
Of course, there are also exotic materials such as agate (stone), lignum vitae (one hardwood) and New Martis (artificial tortoise shell). All these elements are believed to generate an "organic" tone because they are all naturally occurring except the last.
All photos guitar range in thickness from about.38mm (ultra thin) all the way up to 1.5 mm (extra-heavy). Thinner picks are used widely used in many hard rock genres. The solvent peak, the most voracious of the attack sounds, but some believe there is a thick pick creates a brighter, tone Fuller. In addition, when you play with heavy distortion or extreme amplification high gain, thinner peaks will produce a deeper growl that was almost uncontrollable.
Instead, players jazz or blues or country western tend to use thicker picks because of their use of flat wound, heavy gauge strings. The result is a more real and more brightness.
Overall, the peak of your choice is a matter of personal choice and technique. If you are unsure of your choice receive a few different types and test them. You will find that perfect plectrum (PIC) who meets your style and sound.
