Excessive Armpit Sweating- Live Normally With No Sweating

by Hollis Price

Sweating although not loved, is a normal function of the body, it shows that the body is able to function properly and cool itself as necessary when it becomes overheated. Excessive armpit sweating shows that the body is unable to function as it should and there is something wrong with the natural function of the inner cooling system.

Armpit sweating is caused by the synchronized functioning of the two glands located near the armpits – one is the Apocrine gland and the other is the Eccrine gland. The Eccrine gland is the normal gland that performs the most normal function of secreting sufficient amount of clear watery substance to lessen the heat and moistens the area around the armpits to give a cooling effect. This is a nature\’s own way of fighting the heat radiating from the body.

The damage causing gland is the Apocrine gland which releases a thicker fluid that causes the smell and the stains on the clothes after drying.

Thus, the Apocrine gland actually causes all the mischief in the armpits giving out the foul smell. It is believed that the discharge from the Apocrine gland is essentially greasy because the folds of the delicate skin under the arm may tear apart due to constant rubbing with the shirt or other clothing items that come in contact with the skin in that area.

You can apply a talcum powder deodorant locally to help with the excessive armpit sweating. Although the talcum\’s work short term, there is no cure for the ongoing problem caused by the sweating.

If there are no changes in the external environment the excessive armpit sweating continues and the talcum powder could actually end up doing more harm than good causing more discomfort ot an area already feeling the irritation from excessive liquid there.

There are no medications to cure excessive armpit sweating but there is research being done to fix the problem on a permanent basis. There are deodorants available separate from the talc that can fix the problem of odor. The effects of deodorant are temporary but do offer some relief for a day.

The absolute cure for excessive armpit sweating is a surgical procedure. The surgeon makes a cut into the Appocrine gland rendering it non functional and stopping the fluid. The body thinks it is still functioning as it should and it has no idea that the flow if the excretion has stopped, therefore ridding the problem of sweating too much.
