Do I Need To Convert Word To PDF?

by John Kennedy

PDF documents are the most commonly used document format in the world. With their wide accessibility across platforms and being known not to carry viruses. Due to such wide use of this document format at some point you’re going to need to convert a Word document into a PDF file.

PDF documents have always been popular since its inception in the early 1990s. However, it’s position in the digital world was secured when it became an ISO standard. The PDF file format ISO designation is ISO 32000.

A quickly growing feature with PDF documents is PDF forms. With PDF forms a user may input data (such as: name, e-mail, website, or any other information) into the PDF document which can then be printed.

Sometimes when you create a Word document the resulting file can be very large in size. Depending on your e-mail service if you try to e-mail this file it may get denied or block. There are many people who will not accept Word document files because they could contain viruses or malicious software.

There can be a lot of different reasons someone would need to convert a Word document into a PDF file. In fact almost any file format can be converted into a PDF. It’s common for users to not have Microsoft office and be unable to open Word documents.

Convert from word to PDF and 5 reasons why:

1. Anyone on any computer running any operating system can view PDF files

2. PDF files include a host of security features

3. Merge different file types into one PDF standard file

4. Ideal for CD-ROM or digital delivery of information

5. With some software, converting to PDF is as simple as printing your documents to the PDF file format.

So what should you use to convert from Word to PDF? You can purchase Adobe’s least expensive product for $99. I don’t know about you, but this is a little steep for my wallet.

Your first instinct might be to run out there and download the first free version you can find. After all, you’re probably saying, it’s worked for me in the past. This may be true, however, due to the mass popularity of PDF documents there is a bunch sketchy software out there.

Feel free to try this software at your own risk but remember even free has price tag. There have been many complaints of these free solutions maliciously installing adware onto your computer without allowing you to opt out.

There is also the issue of customer service if you’re lucky enough to reach them. Being that they are free generally they don’t feel necessary to provide customer service. This is a very good reason to pay for your PDF software so you have someone to turn to if there’s a problem.

Honestly I can go on and on and on, but, I won’t. Just do the smart thing save your time, save your sanity and move on to more important things by buying a reliable, affordable PDF software solution.
