How do I build my core muscles?

I'm 14 in 8th grade and am planning next year for football in high school. I've never played football before in a effective competition and I know that I need much to build muscle over the summer. What is the best way to build my core muscles and my abs, pecs, etc.?

Your core muscles are your abs and back muscles, the postural muscles principle. Pilates, yoga, specific core courses, take your pick. Your Pecs, shoulders and arms and such are a different group, are part of your shoulder girdle. If you try to prepare for a football season I would just a plain old doing full body workout without the stress on the heart, because in principle will use every muscle group in football. Core training should be part of that already and I find yoga to be very useful. Be warned, yoga promotes a high strength and high flexibility, So I find it harder than weight lifting, are not going to sit and relax and ommm;)
