To begin your SAP Mobile Architecture in seven easy steps. Learn a simple step by step to help you build SAP MI Architecure.

1.0 Scenario

User chooses to create a record in SAP R / 3 using a handheld device. Record may be material, the seller or the volume.

2.0 Prerequisites

1. JDK must be installed.
2. IM client-specific release should be installed and device ID is obtained for the client.
For development, backend / middleware (Syncbos, BAPI Wrappers, etc.) should be completed XML and metadata should be downloaded and prepared for application development.

3.0 Mobile Client Strategy & Synchronization

Recommended implementation strategy includes four major pillars.
 • Script Runtime Application MI,
 • Synchronization Strategy and Development
 • Administration
 • Time perspective that includes management a mobile application that contains the user interface, business logic and data storage on each device.

4.0 Process Flow

4.1 Back-End System Development

 • In the back-end system development is done from MEREP_SBUILDER Transaction and BAPI Wrapper Wizard. After running the wizard, it creates the BAPI wrappers.
 • In MEREP_SBUILDER, syncBO are built with details & RFC destinations as field mapping.
 • This will enable you to download XML metadata.
 • This file will be submitted to MI application developer to further develop MI.

Mobile 4.2 Application Development

 • The SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS) provides clean environments SAP Development Java based, multi-layer based enterprise applications on Eclipse.
 • an open source product, which is open plug-in architecture provides a suitable platform for incorporating specific functions.
 • NWDS provides easy to use tools to design, develop, deploy and continuously change the critical commercial applications in Java/J2EE.

5.0 Synchronization

 • To push data to the PDA middleware and R / 3, we need synchronize the device.
 • This can be done manually, however, a manual process is time consuming and cumbersome to achieve.
 • To make the process of automatic synchronization, we can start substantive work that synchronizes and relives the user to perform this process.
 • We have scheduled automatic synchronization process that will re-synchronize the device every 10 seconds.

6.0 Data flow between the main system involved

In the architecture of MI data flow between the three systems each cycle of material creation.
Back-end system: A system where the actual data, Business Objects and BAPI wrapper lies.
Middleware: Manages the flow of data between applications and R / 3.
Mobile Device: SAP MI client in combination with the Java Development Kit supports rendering application (JSP files) or simply run an application. This acts as a front-end for this whole process.

7.0 Implementation Strategy Portal

 • SAP Netweaver Portal plays a pivotal role in the implementation for IM applications.
 • ABAP middleware stack is maintained on the same server.
 • There is a link between this defect JCO stack ABAP and Java stack. This enables communication between ABAP and Java stack stack without creating connector.
