Computer Heart

As a counselor and life coach I have always taken a strong stance against having a TV or computer in any bedroom child or teen, period. Yes, we used this rule in our own home. We had objections at times and not serious. It has not changed our actions.
My reasoning is twofold. First, I see social isolation, decline in social skills and emotional, less interaction with peers and increase the contempt of authority over children and adolescents who have electronics in their rooms.
Having electronic audiovisual in the nursery decreases the amount of time spent with family, increases the risk of exposure Early pornography and child sexual intercourse, fewer family meals, and decreases the amount of play time with other social youth. The negative impact of this is apparent in school too. These children have a shorter attention, most often want to make sure their way below average social skills and often feel socially isolated.
The second reason is to know a thing or two on brain development, I knew that television and computers do not touch in normal brain development and brain stimulation necessary to make our young people healthy and happy. Now we have a lot of research to back it.
Let the summary of research Joseph Chilton Pearce, who is a scholar, researcher and teacher. He said: "First, if you want intelligent, efficient and healthy children, they must have positive effects of emotional experiences. It begins in the home through unconditional love, appropriate touch of love and an environment safe and secure. Then, it extends our learning environments. If you want true learning, learning that involves superior frontal lobes … The creative brain intellectual … the emotional environment must be positive and supportive. The first sign of anxiety brain's functions by moving the peak in the prefrontal lobes to the old defenses of the reptilian brain. "To put it simply: In order to have a high functioning child we need to feed the mind and heart. The heart and brain communicate with each other in a complex symphony of ganglion cells, the Neural networks and neurotransmitters.
Pearce talks about the harmful effects of television and computers on the brain more and more independently its contents. "Television literally prevents neural growth in the developing brain of children. When young children watch too much it removes the ability of their brain to develop the imagination. "This has to do with how the brain reacts to radiant light. Brain Child "shut down" (stop the thought process).
The television industry has responded by introducing the "startle effect" in children's programming. This triggers the brain into believing that there might be an emergency and warned the brain to pay attention. This is accomplished by dramatic changes in the intensity of light, sound and fast moving angles camera. According to Pearce, "Every 10 years the television industry ups ante by making the startles bigger, there is now an average of 16 bits violence every half-hour cartoons for children. When the heart receives no indication of the negativity or the danger he abandons its usual harmonic mode in an incoherent one, triggering the release of the most powerful hormone in the body called cortisol. Cortisol wakes Instantly the brain and causes to produce trillions of neural links in order to prepare the individual to cope with emergencies. "
Computer monitors have a similar effect through radiant light. Students assigned researchers to 3 groups where the same information was presented on a fourth reading level of quality in 3 different media. Group A had a piece of plain paper, Group B showed a film with the top Group C viewed a computer monitor. The students were then tested for retention of information.
Group A averaged 85% retention after viewing a document, the Group B averaged 25% – 30% retention after viewing a screen Film Group C on average 3% – 5% retention after viewing a computer screen. "Computers and TV change the brains of our children. We must encourage our children to develop the capacity to think first and then give them a computer. Pearce research sites development Piaget, "The first twelve years of life are spent to build the knowledge structures that enable young people to grasp abstract, metaphoric, symbolic type information … The danger is that the computer and television will stop this trend.
