Commercial Grade

When you make homemade pizza, toppings of quality are important. Mozzarella cheese is one of the best ingredients to put on any pizza.

Most of my pizzas were made with commercial grade mozzarella. I achieved good results over the years and have no real complaints. This type of mozzarella is made from cow's milk and comes in blocks or is already shredded.

I used to buy individual packets before grated in size 8 ounces. This is probably the worst way to buy mozzarella. I found a great way save money by buying in bulk in a local food warehouse. I bought a bag of 5 pounds of mozzarella and divide it into individual packets Can I freeze until I need them. Surprisingly, mozzarella freezes well without any sequelae.

Buffalo mozzarella (Mozzarella di Bufala) is made from buffalo milk and is very different from commercial mozzarella. Buffalo mozzarella is shaped into a ball and is packaged in a mixture brine rather wrapped in plastic. Fresh mozzarella from cow's milk is similar to Buffalo Mozzarella and is also packed in brine. The taste of this Fresh mozzarella is totally unique. He has a firm texture and elastic rebounds to the touch. When I used to cook pizza, Mozzarella di Bufala tends to puddle and ooze over the whole pizza. This is heavenly!

Taste is incredibly smooth and creamy. There really is no comparison between Buffalo Mozzarella and cousin of commercial quality. If you can get buffalo mozzarella, mozzarella or fresh cow's milk, try it on your next pizza. You will be pleasantly surprise!
