How many calories you burn walking depends on many different factors, especially the following:

Your weight

Your weight is the biggest factor in the amount of calories you burn during your walk. The more you weight, the more kilos you have to carry each step, leading to more calories burned. This is great news if you're overweight, because every step you take will burn more calories.

If you want to increase the number of calories you burn during your workout walk, just add weight. No, IÂ'm not suggest that you gain a few pounds yourself. Instead of carrying a lightweight during your walk. There wrists and ankle weights and even weight vests available. My favorite way to add weight is to fill two water bottles and carry them with me.

How fast you Walk

Speed is the second factor in determining how many calories you burn your walk. The fast walking, burn more calories youÂ'll. In other words, if two people walk a mile each, the walk will burn faster more calories. Challenge yourself to walk just a little faster each week and youÂ'll burn those calories while you get in better shape. Another advantage brisk walking will get your heart rate, which results in increasing your metabolism. An increased metabolism will burn more calories long after your workout is complete.

Flat, uphill or downhill

The last factor in how calories you burn walking I want to mention is where you walk, or more precisely if you walk on a flat surface, climb or descent. Obviously walking uphill is the hardest and burns the most calories are burned walking downhill at least. Given the choice between a place flat and hilly, go to the hilly area. Not only will you burn more calories walking uphill, and get your heart rate. You can also use different muscle groups in the legs climbs vs descent.
