This sounds like a timing belt that needs replacement?

I bought at 03 Accent with 66,000 miles. I've noticed that when I start the car, there is generally a whining sound that I would associate with a timing belt. After I drive the car a few minutes, the noise gradually diminishes to nothing. If I was running and the message and let the car for only a short time, I do not get the sound to start again. On the phone, the dealer said he thinks it likely that condensation builds on the timing belt, and not to worry about unless it gets worse. I am planning to in the car once the spring comes a tune-up done and have replaced the belt because I still think it probably original. Apart from the noise is annoying when the car starts, there are no performance problems. Do I care for this earlier, or a car with this symptom should be able to her six months and about 8000 miles to go before replacing the belt?

I would think that the condensation on the tape. Belts will make strange noises as much espiecally moisture management is in the air before you start the car. If it is not continuous and it is not strange, the car fine til your scheduled time of the charge for repair / tune-up. Hopefully you have a decent garage in mind and not the dealer!
