Boxing Training

How old must one be to begin training for boxing?
My son really wants to begin training for boxing, but is only 8 years old. Is this too young? Also, does anyone know how much it costs?
any age, in fact, I started at age 18 iKNOW that most should be willing to pay is 40-60 dollars per month, 8 years old is not too Yound all thats said to be by the time it arrives to 14 years `d be ready to compete at the Olympics with continuous JR, 17 or 18 world championships and the Olympic Games if thats you want to go
