In recent years, might have thought that the sport of boxing had gone into hiding, or simply retired altogether to be replaced by MMA De La Hoya and Merryweather came along to try to breathe new life into their sport, while I still can not say what it will mean for the future of boxing, I know my generation and the generations that will surely prefer MMA over boxing.

The question of the popularity of both sports, in comparison with others is in largely generational. Younger generations prefer MMA, while the older set is in favor of boxing. Subsequent generations also will prefer MMA – because simply put, is a sport better and has more to offer fans.

Why MMA is better than boxing? Let me explain based on the negative aspects of both sports – the negatives are really the same for everyone, so it's simple.

Those who prefer boxing to MMA barbarism called MMA. This stems largely from the perception of not knowing about the sport and disregard for the rules of MMA. Like boxing, cheap shots, gouges, sticks and other dirty movements are not allowed. I ask you to MMA really that barbaric? Boxers punch to the face too – the difference is that MMA fighting moves added to the equation, Is this really what pushes the edge, or is it just a matter of taste? This specious reasoning is safe. If MMA is barbaric, so is boxing.

Another argument is that the promotional tactics used by the MMA are ridiculous. Certainly there is a lot of trash talking before the game between the combatants. Some boxing fans will also tell you that, like professional wrestling matches were held MMA. I meet this demand with these two questions – Do you have proof that organized MMA matches? With so many different fighting styles in the game in any given match, the fighters have even more to see and anticipate. Is your opponent a master of disassembly? They are weak in the department of boxing? How is your defense? While the boxers need to know the style of boxing, MMA fighters need to know how your opponent has many different fighting styles.

The MMA event cards are also higher than those offered by most boxing events. A card Boxing may have only a party of interest (this is usually the case) – the main event itself. The price is also much higher than an MMA event. A ticket for a big boxing event may run as high as $ 2,500 R $ 55 on PPV.
