If I am a new fishing lake first thing I do when the boat goes in the water is to check the clarity. How far can I see who make a difference on this lure that I use and how I fish the bait particular. I then scan the shoreline and see if there are points which juts in the lake, perhaps a narrow or where a stream enters the lake. Bass love hanging out at these locations.
