Is there a good DVD or book to learn painting tecniques?

I've always liked to paint with watercolors and acrylic, but I never got a lesson on both. I want to learn how to add depth and contrast and such things on my painting. I only paint with flowers, I see nothing behind them other than color or abstract.

If you have an art store near you, you can find specialized books on watercolor painting, oil and acrylic. I would look through them and choose the one that you like. YouTube is a great resource and are Free. The following link is a good explaiting simple technique to painting flowers and background. Have fun!
