Dying cotton tank black and white, so that only turns yellow striped?

If coloring black and white striped cotton tank yellow Is the black remain quite the same, while the white stripes turn yellow? I'm trying to make a bee costume for Halloween. In addition, suggestions for the brand of dye would be great!

Do not think you can change the color black, with nothing more than chlorine. I'd like to get some Rit dye and a color yellow, white cotton because it holds the color and if it is too dark, you could end up orange. I think that would give black and yellow.
