Rotator cuff exercises are an important part of treatment for a shoulder injury related to a damaged or torn rotator cuff. Rotator cuff injuries usually do not heal by themselves. Surgery may be necessary for a rotator cuff full thickness. A doctor will help you with therapeutic techniques as part of a holistic program to heal a rotator cuff. Precautions must be taken to follow the program with diligence and care. A patient may suffer adverse effects of the rotator cuff injury if an exercise regime is neglected in the therapeutic process.

Exercises to strengthen muscles following four elements: the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor and subscapularis form part of the process of therapy for the vast majority of patients. The primary exercise recommended for patients is the path of the mature market. In this exercise, the patient faces the wall and raises his arm touched or overhead while walking fingertips until the wall. The patient then turns into the wall for ten seconds before lowering the arm. This procedure is repeated several times before resting.

Another very effective exercise is the way cane. These exercises are done with the patient supine and with the help of a cane, stick or a handle broom. The patient takes the cane or stick with both hands and rotate the affected shoulder, to push the object in the hand of the affected shoulder. This allows the patient to stretch the rod externally rotated. The hand is then brought to a neutral position so that the exercise can be repeated. Two sets of fifteen repetitions is an ideal amount for which patients may progress over time.

The towel portion is used for better internal rotation of the shoulder. The affected hand is reduced to the hip, while the right hand reaches overhead. Both ends a towel held by hands with each of the posts untouched. The patient uses the right hand of hands on the head of what will cause the affected arm turning internally.

A healthy diet of regular exercise is an important step in the treatment of shoulder pain.

Patients should choose to visit a doctor if symptoms of pain does not cease to exist over time. The doctor can diagnose the problem and can develop an exercise program to control and relieve your shoulder pain.

Sticking to an exercise program regular help to keep the ball of the shoulder and socket joints healthy and strong. All rotator cuff exercise should be designed to reduce stiffness and increase flexibility in your joints. Although there are many exercises available and most can be easily realized home, you should always try to use dynamic exercises requiring balance like a hand press-ups.
