Arts Mma
Arts Mma

You could say I'm an old man when it comes to MMA. And I guess I made a routine training MMA for about 10 years.

My first involvement in Gracie jiu-jitsu or, as it is sometimes called – jiu-jitsu – with Craig Kukuk.

Craig was teaching BJJ at Red Bank New Jersey. He had recently formed an alliance with Renzo Gracie and they sold their tapes training in Black Belt Magazine.

Unfortunately, Like most people who start BJJ – you discover that your air conditioning and endurance stinks.

So I sought a better way to accomplish my MMA training routine. Another way in which nobody was at the time, even using, because it was 1993 and the mixed martial arts was just on the scene.

Just to give you an idea of how far the routine mixed martial arts training came when I asked the most martial artists around me how to improve conditioning and stamina for struggling to answer their most jiu-jitsu.

So I decided to do some reading on the theme of strength and conditioning. Now you mind, I was a wrestler in high school and college, so I really had an idea of what to do.

I researched what football teams in the NFL were in their strength and conditioning programs. What I found was that they applied a concept that had not even been named yet. Today you may know as "High-Intensity Interval Training."

Originally Ultimate Fighting or mixed martial arts fighting did not like boxing or wrestling matches. If you remember Royce Gracie – his struggles had no time limit if you had the opportunity to tire your opponent. Today, fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC as it is called – can vary from three minutes to five revolutions per minute, depending on the fight.

Endurance and resistance has become even more important in the context of a routine training MMA.

So much so, Tito Ortiz who recently bought camp boxing Oscar De La Hoya in Big Bear Lake for a reported amount 2.1 million.

Tito has experienced the benefits of high-altitude training to take place and the people whom he had trained in a considerable physical condition. Strength and endurance are essential to your success and a good routine MMA workout should include a high altitude training.
