6ft Standard "A" Frame Table Picnic

The table base has proven itself and has been around for many years and as a piece of outdoor furniture will improve your deck .. It is very easy to build and will last for years.

It appears in many different designs. It consists entirely of 2 * 4 dressed, treated wood.

Equipment Needed

This could be done with a hand saw and miter box however it would be easier with an electric circular saw. (Or even a drop saw arm tabs.)

A hammer. A square. A small hand plane. Wrench. Tape measure.

A drill with a small 3 / 8. (2 1 / 2 "Holesaw)

Materials List

117 ft 2 * 4 "dressed treated lumber (pine)
8 3 / 8 "* 4 "galvanized carriage bolts
Approximately 110 3 1 / 2 "galvanized nails with flat heads

Cutting list

1) Seat & table top 14 pieces @ 72 "(1830mm) square cut

2) Seat supports 2 pieces @ 63 "(1600mm) 60 degrees opposite angles

3) support table 2 pieces @ 29 "(735mm) 60 degrees opposite angles

4) Legs 4 pieces @ 33 "(840mm) to 60 degrees parallel angles

5) straps 2 pieces @ 24 "(610mm) 45 degrees opposite angles

6) Table cleat 1 piece @ 29 "(735mm) 60 degrees opposite angles

7) Cleat Seat 2 pieces @ 10 1 / 2 "(265mm) to 60 degrees opposite angles

Instructions

1) Cut all the lumber by cutting list.

2) On a flat surface is one of the end frames to the measurements in the diagram. Nailed with nails.

3) Fill the frame of the second end so that it is a perfect marriage of the first.

4) If all steps are OK, 8 drill holes and bolt the frames together.

5) Stand the frames with legs on the inside face each other. Place one of the pieces of the head table at the outside edge and tack in place 7 "from the outer edge. Then, drawing the other table outside the upper plate in place.

6) Check the distance between the legs. Adjust and then tack up the 2 outer seat advice also 7 "from the end.

7) Check the square. (Wedge angle measurement.) Check if 8 boards will be on the table. (Some timber varies somewhat in width.) If ok, nail in place the table top and seats so that 2 * 4 are hard against each other.

9) Mark the center seats and nail up the cleats 2 places at the top.

10) Turn the table upside down. You must now ensure that the end frames are square and vertical. Use your square. Tack a temporary brace to make sure it does not move. Now fit the 2 braces. These you have reduced to 45 degrees. One end is attached to the seat support and the other at the 2 * 4 table.

11) Turn the rebound. Nail the braces from the top and both ends. Tidy the edges stuffed with a plane of the hand.

12) If you need an umbrella hole, you will need a 2 1 / 2 "hole saw to drill a hole in the center of the table.
